Overview

Pockli Scan is designed with privacy at its core. Your documents are stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store, process, or have access to your documents.

Data We Collect — The App

Pockli Scan does not collect personal data from your documents. We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage analytics through Apple's App Analytics (such as feature usage counts and crash reports) to improve the app. This data is anonymized by Apple before it reaches us and cannot be used to identify you or access your documents.

Data We Collect — The Website

When you use the contact form or sign up for feature notifications on pockli.com, we collect your email address and any information you provide in the message. This data is processed through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered to us via email. We use this data solely to respond to your inquiry or send you product updates. We do not use cookies for tracking. The website does not use any third-party analytics tools.

Where Your Data Lives

All documents you scan or import are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, documents are also stored in your personal iCloud account, managed by Apple. We have no access to your iCloud data.

Email addresses collected through the website are processed by AWS infrastructure located in the United States and delivered to our email inbox. We do not store email addresses in a separate database.

Third-Party Access

We do not share, sell, or provide access to your documents or personal data to any third party. The only third-party service involved in data processing is AWS (Amazon Web Services), which processes contact form and notification form submissions. Apple processes anonymous app analytics on our behalf. No other third parties have access to your data.

OCR Processing

Text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks. No document content is sent to external servers for processing.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process personal data on the following legal bases: consent (when you submit the contact form or sign up for notifications), legitimate interest (anonymous app analytics to improve the product), and contract performance (to provide you with the app and its features, including Pro subscriptions).

Your Rights

Under the GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Since we store minimal data (only email addresses from form submissions), exercising these rights is straightforward — just contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) or your local EU data protection authority.

Data Retention

Documents stored in the app remain on your device and iCloud under your control — we have no ability to delete or retain them. Email addresses from contact form submissions and notification signups are retained in our email inbox until the purpose is fulfilled or you request deletion.

International Data Transfers

Contact form and notification data is processed through AWS infrastructure in the United States. AWS participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides adequate safeguards for the transfer of personal data from the EU to the US.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you through the app or by email if you have signed up for notifications.
